Join us to try Snowshoeing in the Powder

If you learn how to snowshoe in powder you can explore the terrain around the resort on a rest day or venture out in the evening under a full moon or the stars?

Our team of internationally certified and experienced tour leaders can teach you to confidently walk in the powder on snowshoes through the fields and trees around this very scenic area.

2.5 hour or 6 hour Snow Shoe Tours

Our snow shoe tours are generally available in 2.5 hour or 6 hour blocks.

2.5 hour tour can be scheduled to start in either the morning (9am) or afternoon (1pm) or evening starting at 5pm.

This tour starts at the car park where you learn to put your snowshoes on and how to walk in the snow. The tour takes the path to a small crater in the flanks of Mt Yotei called Lake Hangetsu. It is a few minutes walk to the rim where the descent to the lake starts. At the frozen lake it is possible to explore around the edges and even walk across if the ice is thick.

We will host a picnic with hot chocolate and snacks and then you can walk back through the trees and you will be confidently forging your own path off the beaten track. It is a fun experience to walk in the forest and a great opportunity to see the the wildlife and ecology up close.

6 hour tour starts at 9am and finishes around 4pm or can start at 1pm and finish at 8pm, allowing an hour for a meal break.

The tour takes the path to Lake Hangetsu with a few minutes walk to the rim where the 50m descent to the lake starts. At the lake it is possible to explore around the lake and even walk across if the ice is thick enough. Then the group will climb out and walk around the rim. It takes about 4 hours to circumnavigate the rim and there will be opportunities for side trips to take in the view.

We host a picnic lunch with hot chocolate and snacks and then walk back through the trees. It is a very pleasant experience in the forest and a great opportunity to see the the wildlife and ecology up close.

Find Us

Your lesson will begin at FastFun.jp office and finish at the FastFun office or we pick you up and drop you off at your hotel.

Included with your tour

A professional guide will take your tour. All snow shoes and poles are included in the cost. We provide a flask of hot chocolate, mocha or green tea and some snacks. We also include transportation from your accommodation (available on request)

Prerequisites

Our tours are designed for people of good level of fitness and any ability.

We will ask you to sign the “Agreement for participation” and pay the full amount before the start of the lesson. The Terms and Conditions will be attached to your invoice.

Personal insurance is also excluded.
